The average age at which children get their first smartphone is now about ten. Many parents say they buy phones for safety: they want to be able to call their children at any time.
Bolalar birinchi smartfonini oladigan o‘rtacha yosh hozir taxminan o‘n. Ko‘p ota-onalar telefonni xavfsizlik uchun olishini aytadi: ular farzandlariga istalgan vaqtda qo‘ng‘iroq qila olishni xohlashadi.
However, many experts are worried. Studies link heavy smartphone use in children to poor sleep, less physical activity and problems with concentration. Social media can also make children feel anxious about how they look.
Biroq ko‘plab mutaxassislar xavotirda. Tadqiqotlar bolalarda smartfondan ko‘p foydalanishni yomon uyqu, kam jismoniy faollik va diqqatni jamlashdagi muammolar bilan bog‘laydi. Ijtimoiy tarmoqlar ham bolalarni tashqi ko‘rinishi haqida xavotirga solishi mumkin.
Some parents choose a middle way. They give their children a simple phone that can only make calls and send messages, and wait until fourteen for a smartphone. Others allow a smartphone but set clear rules, such as no phones at the dinner table or in the bedroom.
Ba’zi ota-onalar o‘rta yo‘lni tanlaydi. Farzandlariga faqat qo‘ng‘iroq qilish va xabar yuborish mumkin bo‘lgan oddiy telefon berib, smartfon uchun o‘n to‘rt yoshgacha kutishadi. Boshqalar smartfonga ruxsat beradi, lekin aniq qoidalar o‘rnatadi: masalan, ovqat stolida yoki yotoqxonada telefon yo‘q.
Most experts agree on one thing: what matters is not only the age, but also how the phone is used, and whether parents set a good example themselves.
Ko‘pchilik mutaxassislar bir narsada hamfikr: muhimi faqat yosh emas, balki telefondan qanday foydalanilishi va ota-onalarning o‘zlari yaxshi o‘rnak ko‘rsatishidir.
Schools have also joined the debate. In several countries, including France and the Netherlands, phones are now banned in classrooms, and in some schools even during breaks. Teachers report that pupils talk and play together more, and that there is less online bullying during the school day.
Maktablar ham bahsga qo‘shildi. Bir qancha mamlakatlarda, jumladan Fransiya va Niderlandiyada, endi sinflarda telefonlar taqiqlangan, ba’zi maktablarda esa hatto tanaffuslarda ham. O‘qituvchilar o‘quvchilar ko‘proq gaplashib, birga o‘ynashini va maktab kuni davomida onlayn bezorilik kamayganini aytishadi.
Children themselves often have mixed feelings. In one survey, many teenagers said they felt “addicted” to their phones and wished they used them less. At the same time, they said that without a phone they would feel left out, because their friends make plans and share news online.
Bolalarning o‘zi ko‘pincha aralash his-tuyg‘ularga ega. Bir so‘rovnomada ko‘plab o‘smirlar o‘zlarini telefonga “qaram” his qilishini va undan kamroq foydalanishni istashini aytgan. Shu bilan birga, ular telefonsiz o‘zlarini chetda qolgandek his qilishlarini aytishgan, chunki do‘stlari rejalarni tuzib, yangiliklarni internetda ulashadi.
