Describe a gift you gave to someone that made them very happy.
You should say:
- who you gave it to
- what the gift was
- why you chose it
and explain why it made the person so happy.
Namuna javob
The gift I want to talk about is one I gave my grandmother for her seventy-fifth birthday last spring. She’s always had a very close relationship with her sisters, but two of them emigrated to Russia decades ago, and they hadn’t been in the same room for nearly fifteen years. For months beforehand, I secretly worked with my cousins to make it happen. We contacted my great-aunts, organised their visas and bought their plane tickets, which we paid for together. On the day of her birthday, we told my grandmother we were just having a family lunch. When she walked into the room and saw her sisters sitting at the table, she literally couldn’t speak for a moment — then she burst into tears. I chose this gift because whenever we asked her what she wanted, she always said she had everything she needed, which was true in a material sense. But I knew the one thing she missed was her sisters. I think it made her so happy because it showed that we’d really listened to her and understood what mattered to her, rather than just buying something from a shop. She still calls it the best day of her life.
Sovg‘aning moddiy emas, ma’naviy qiymatini tushuntiring.
3-qism: Muhokama
Part 3 da imtihonchi mavzuni umumlashtirib, jamiyat darajasidagi savollar beradi. Fikr + sabab + misol + (ixtiyoriy) qarshi fikr.
-
Has gift-giving become too commercial?
Namuna javob
In many ways, yes. Advertising creates pressure to spend more each year, particularly around holidays. However, I think many people are starting to value handmade or experiential gifts more.
Rozilik + trend.
-
Is it rude to give money as a present?
Namuna javob
It depends on the culture. In some places it’s considered thoughtless, but in Uzbekistan it’s perfectly acceptable, especially for weddings, because it’s genuinely useful.
Madaniy relativizm.
-
Why do some people spend a lot of money on gifts?
Namuna javob
Sometimes to show how much they care, and sometimes for status — to impress others. Social media has made gift-giving more competitive.
Ikki motiv.
-
Do children today receive too many gifts?
Namuna javob
In many families, I think so. When children receive constant gifts, each one means less, and they may not learn to appreciate what they have.
Pozitsiya + sabab.
