When I woke up, I realised it hadn’t been a dream. There was sand on my bed and a seashell in my hand.
During the night, I had dreamed that a huge white bird flew me to a beautiful island. I swam in warm blue water and played on the beach with a group of children.
I showed the shell to my mum, but she just laughed. “You probably found it on our holiday last year,” she said.
But we had never been to the sea. I still keep the shell on my desk, and sometimes I hold it to my ear and listen to the waves.
