There was no name on the letter. Somebody had put it in my school bag during the break.
It said: “You are the kindest person in our class. Thank you for helping me when nobody else did.” I read it again and again, trying to guess who had written it.
A week later, I noticed that the new girl, Nodira, always smiled shyly at me. I remembered that I had helped her find her classroom on her first day.
When I asked her, she turned red and nodded. It turned out that she had been too shy to say thank you. Now we’re best friends.
