The phone rang at midnight. I was fast asleep, so I answered it with my eyes closed.
“It’s me, your cousin Akbar!” said an excited voice. “I’m at the airport, and nobody came to meet me!” I couldn’t believe it. We had completely forgotten that he was arriving that night.
I woke my dad, and we drove to the airport as fast as we could. Akbar was sitting alone on his suitcase, looking tired but happy to see us.
In the end, we all laughed about it over a midnight snack. Now my mum writes every important date on the fridge!
