As soon as the train started moving, I realised I had made a mistake. I was on the train to Bukhara, not Samarkand!
I felt terrible, because my friend was waiting for me in Samarkand for her birthday party. My phone battery was almost dead, so I couldn’t even call her.
Luckily, a kind woman sitting next to me lent me her phone. I explained everything to my friend, and she just laughed.
In the end, she took a bus to Bukhara the next day, and we celebrated her birthday there instead. It was the best mistake I’ve ever made!
