Many parents think teenagers are lazy because they sleep late in the morning. But scientists say this is not laziness. During the teenage years, the body clock changes, and young people naturally feel sleepy later at night.
Ko‘p ota-onalar o‘smirlarni ertalab kech uxlagani uchun dangasa deb o‘ylashadi. Lekin olimlar bu dangasalik emas deyishadi. O‘smirlik yillarida tana soati o‘zgaradi va yoshlar tabiiy ravishda kechasi kechroq uyquga ketadi.
Teenagers need about nine hours of sleep every night. However, most of them sleep only six or seven hours on school nights, because school starts early.
O‘smirlarga har kecha taxminan to‘qqiz soat uyqu kerak. Biroq ularning ko‘pchiligi maktab kunlari atigi olti-yetti soat uxlaydi, chunki maktab erta boshlanadi.
Not enough sleep can make it hard to concentrate and remember information. In some countries, schools now start at nine instead of eight, and students’ marks have gone up.
Yetarli uxlamaslik diqqatni jamlash va ma’lumotni eslab qolishni qiyinlashtirishi mumkin. Ba’zi mamlakatlarda maktablar endi sakkiz emas, to‘qqizda boshlanadi va o‘quvchilarning baholari oshgan.
Phones make the problem worse. The blue light from screens tells the brain that it is still daytime, so it is harder to fall asleep. Many teenagers also keep their phones next to their beds and wake up when messages arrive at night.
Telefonlar muammoni og‘irlashtiradi. Ekranlardagi ko‘k yorug‘lik miyaga hali kunduz ekanini bildiradi, shuning uchun uxlash qiyinlashadi. Ko‘p o‘smirlar telefonini karavoti yonida saqlaydi va kechasi xabar kelganda uyg‘onib ketadi.
Experts give simple advice: stop using screens one hour before bed, keep the bedroom dark and cool, and try to wake up at the same time every day, even at weekends. Sleeping very late on Sunday makes Monday morning even harder.
Mutaxassislar oddiy maslahat beradi: uxlashdan bir soat oldin ekranlardan foydalanishni to‘xtating, yotoqxonani qorong‘i va salqin saqlang, har kuni, hatto dam olish kunlari ham bir vaqtda uyg‘onishga harakat qiling. Yakshanba kuni juda kech uxlash dushanba tongini yanada qiyinlashtiradi.
