Did you enjoy history at school?
Namuna javob
Not much at the time — it felt like memorising dates — but I find it fascinating now.
O‘zgarish.

Yes, although I’m always curious how accurate they are.

Describe a historical period you would like to learn more about.
You should say:
- what the period is
- what you already know about it
- how you could learn more
and explain why you would like to learn more about it.
Namuna javob
A historical period I’d really like to learn more about is the Islamic Golden Age in Central Asia, roughly between the ninth and twelfth centuries. I know the basics: during this time, cities like Bukhara, Samarkand, Khiva and Merv were among the most important centres of learning in the world. Scholars such as Al-Khwarizmi, whose name gives us the word “algorithm”, and Ibn Sina, who wrote a medical encyclopaedia used in Europe for centuries, came from this region. Libraries held hundreds of thousands of books at a time when much of Europe was largely illiterate. However, my knowledge is quite superficial; I know names and achievements, but very little about everyday life — how ordinary people lived, how education was organised or how ideas travelled along the Silk Road. To learn more, I’d like to read some serious history books, ideally translated from academic sources, and perhaps take an online course from a university. I’d also love to visit the archaeological sites around Termez and Khiva with an expert guide. The main reason I want to learn more is that this period is a huge source of pride, but it’s often reduced to a few famous names. I want to understand how such a flourishing culture developed — and why it eventually declined — because I think there are lessons in that for today.
Bilganingiz → bilmaganingiz (o‘z-o‘zini tanqid) → qanday o‘rganasiz → nega (bugungi kunga saboq).
3-qism: Muhokama
Part 3 da imtihonchi mavzuni umumlashtirib, jamiyat darajasidagi savollar beradi. Fikr + sabab + misol + (ixtiyoriy) qarshi fikr.
-
Why is it important to study history?
Namuna javob
History helps us understand why the world is the way it is, and it can help us avoid repeating mistakes. It also gives people a sense of identity and belonging.
Uch sabab.
-
Is history taught in an interesting way in schools?
Namuna javob
Often not. It’s frequently reduced to memorising dates, when it should focus on stories, causes and debates. Visits to historical sites can make a huge difference.
Tanqid + taklif.
-
Can we really learn from history?
Namuna javob
In theory, yes, but in practice people often ignore its lessons. History rarely repeats itself exactly, but patterns certainly recur.
Nozik.
-
How might people in the future view our time?
Namuna javob
Perhaps as the period when the digital revolution began, and possibly when humanity either tackled or failed to tackle climate change.
Bashorat.
