Describe a successful local business you know.
You should say:
- what the business is
- where it is
- who runs it
and explain why you think it is successful.
Namuna javob
A local business I really admire is a small family bakery called Nonvoy, which is on the corner of my street in Tashkent. It’s run by a husband and wife in their fifties, along with their two sons, and it’s been open for about fifteen years. They specialise in traditional Uzbek bread, baked in a clay tandoor, but in recent years they’ve also started making pastries and cakes. I think the business is successful for several reasons. Firstly, the quality is consistently excellent. The bread is always fresh — they bake three times a day — and they use good ingredients, so people are willing to queue, even when there are cheaper options nearby. Secondly, they’ve adapted cleverly. When the younger son joined, he set up an Instagram page and started taking online orders, so now they deliver across the district and supply several cafés. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, they’ve built real relationships with customers. They know regulars by name, they give children a small free bun, and during Ramadan they donate bread to poorer families. I think that sense of community creates loyalty that big supermarkets can’t compete with. It shows that a traditional business can thrive if it combines quality with an openness to new ideas.
Biznes → egalari → muvaffaqiyat sabablari (sifat, moslashuv, munosabat) → umumiy saboq.

-
Why are small businesses important for a community?
Namuna javob
They create local jobs, keep money circulating in the area and give neighbourhoods character. They also tend to know and support their customers personally.
Uch funksiya.
-
What are the main challenges for new businesses?
Namuna javob
Getting funding, finding reliable staff, and dealing with competition and bureaucracy. Many also underestimate how long it takes to become profitable.

Should the government help people start businesses?
Namuna javob
I think so, through low-interest loans, training and reducing paperwork. Entrepreneurship drives innovation and employment.

-
Is it better to work for yourself or for a company?
Namuna javob
Self-employment offers freedom and potentially higher rewards, but it’s riskier and often more stressful. It suits some personalities better than others.
