Describe a piece of good advice that someone gave you.
You should say:
- who gave you the advice
- what the advice was
- when you received it
and explain why you think it was good advice.
Namuna javob
The best piece of advice I’ve ever received came from my first manager, when I was twenty-two and had just started my first proper job at a marketing agency. I’d made a serious mistake on a client report — I’d used the wrong figures — and I was so ashamed that I tried to hide it and fix it quietly. She noticed, called me into her office, and instead of getting angry she said something I’ve never forgotten: “Bad news doesn’t get better with time. Tell people early.” She explained that if I’d told her immediately, we could have corrected it in ten minutes, but because I’d waited, the client had already seen the report. I think it was excellent advice for several reasons. Firstly, it applies to almost every area of life — work, friendships, even family. Secondly, it changed my attitude to mistakes; I stopped seeing them as personal failures and started seeing them as problems to solve together. And finally, it made people trust me more, because they know I’ll be honest with them. Since then, whenever I’m tempted to hide something, I hear her voice in my head.
Maslahatni aniq iqtibos bilan keltiring va “Firstly, secondly, finally” bilan asoslang.

Nozik rad.

How has the internet changed the way people get advice?
Namuna javob
People can now find advice on almost anything within seconds, which is empowering. The problem is that much of it is unreliable, and people may trust a stranger online more than an expert.
