Do you like old buildings or modern ones?
Namuna javob
I’m more drawn to old buildings — they have character and stories behind them. Many modern buildings look the same everywhere.
Sabab + kontrast.

Describe an old building that you have visited.
You should say:
- where it is
- what it looks like
- what it is used for now
and explain how you felt when you visited it.
Namuna javob
The building I’d like to describe is the Ark fortress in Bukhara, which I visited for the first time on a school trip and then again last year with friends. It stands on a huge artificial hill at the edge of the old town, and from the outside it looks almost like a giant sandcastle — massive sloping walls made of yellowish brick, with a grand entrance gate between two towers. Historians believe there has been a fortress on that site for over two thousand years, and it was home to the rulers of Bukhara until the early twentieth century. These days, it’s a museum complex. Inside, you walk up a long covered ramp and arrive at a series of courtyards, an old mosque with carved wooden columns, and rooms displaying coins, manuscripts and royal clothing. When I visited, I felt a strange mixture of awe and sadness. Awe, because of the sheer scale and age of the place; sadness, because the guide told us how much was destroyed during battles in 1920. Standing on the walls, looking over the domes of the city, I felt very aware of how much history had happened in that one spot.
Tashqi ko‘rinish → tarix → hozirgi funksiya → his-tuyg‘u (aralash his — Band 7 belgisi).
3-qism: Muhokama
Part 3 da imtihonchi mavzuni umumlashtirib, jamiyat darajasidagi savollar beradi. Fikr + sabab + misol + (ixtiyoriy) qarshi fikr.
-
Should governments spend money on preserving old buildings?
Namuna javob
I believe they should, at least for buildings of genuine historical value. They’re part of a nation’s identity, and once they’re gone, they can’t be replaced. They also attract tourism, which brings economic benefits.
Pozitsiya + iqtisodiy dalil.
-
Is it better to restore old buildings or replace them with modern ones?
Namuna javob
It depends on the building. Landmarks should obviously be restored, but ordinary old buildings that are unsafe might reasonably be replaced, as long as new designs respect the character of the area.
“It depends” + shart.
-
How does architecture affect people’s quality of life?
Namuna javob
Quite significantly. Well-designed spaces with natural light, greenery and places to meet can improve mood and community life, whereas monotonous concrete blocks can feel alienating.
Kontrast.
-
Why do tourists find old buildings more interesting than new ones?
Namuna javob
Old buildings tell a story about how people lived and what they valued. Modern buildings, however impressive, often feel generic because they could be anywhere in the world.
Sabab.
