Describe an advertisement that you remember well.
You should say:
- what product or service it was for
- where you saw it
- what happened in it
and explain why you remember it.
Namuna javob
An advertisement I remember really clearly was for a mobile phone network here in Uzbekistan, which I first saw on YouTube about a year ago and then on billboards all over the city. It was surprisingly simple and quite moving. The advert followed an elderly man living alone in a mountain village, who is shown doing his daily routine — feeding chickens, making tea, looking at old photographs. Then his phone rings, and it’s a video call from his granddaughter, who is studying abroad. She shows him the snow in her new city, and he holds the phone up so she can see the sunset over the mountains. There’s almost no dialogue, just gentle music, and at the end the slogan appears: “Distance is just a number.” I think I remember it for several reasons. Firstly, it didn’t focus on the technical features of the network at all, like speed or price; instead, it focused on emotions and family, which is something everyone can relate to. Secondly, it reminded me of my own grandfather, so it hit quite close to home. And finally, it was a refreshing contrast to the loud, flashy adverts we usually see. Ironically, though, I still don’t use that network!

Part 3 da imtihonchi mavzuni umumlashtirib, jamiyat darajasidagi savollar beradi. Fikr + sabab + misol + (ixtiyoriy) qarshi fikr.

Should advertising aimed at children be banned?
Namuna javob
I think it should at least be strictly limited, particularly for unhealthy food. Young children can’t really distinguish between entertainment and persuasion, so it’s an unfair influence.
Pozitsiya + dalil.
-
Are people today more resistant to advertising?
Namuna javob
In some ways — people skip adverts and use ad-blockers. But advertising has become more subtle, through influencers and personalised ads, which can be even more persuasive.
Murakkab javob.
-
Is advertising mostly positive or negative for society?
Namuna javob
It has positive sides: it funds free content and informs people about products. However, it also encourages overconsumption and can create unrealistic expectations, especially about appearance.
Ikki tomon.
-
How do companies use personal data in advertising?
Namuna javob
They track our searches, location and purchases to show us highly targeted ads. It’s efficient, but it raises serious privacy concerns.
Tushuntirish + baho.
