Zoos are cruel and must close.
Zoos are only justifiable if they prioritise conservation and welfare.

Animals arguably deserve protection from unnecessary suffering.

Describe an experience you had with a wild animal.
You should say:
- what the animal was
- where and when you saw it
- what happened
and explain how you felt about the experience.
Namuna javob
One of the most memorable experiences I’ve had with a wild animal happened about three years ago in the Chatkal Nature Reserve, in the mountains north-east of Tashkent. I was on a guided hiking trip with a small group, and on the second morning, our guide suddenly stopped and pointed across a valley. On a rocky slope, perhaps two hundred metres away, there was a group of Siberian ibex — wild mountain goats with enormous curved horns. At first I could barely make them out, because their colouring blends almost perfectly with the rocks, but through binoculars I counted about eleven, including several young ones. We sat in silence for nearly half an hour, watching them move across slopes that looked almost vertical, leaping between ledges with astonishing confidence. Then one of the males noticed us, gave a sharp warning whistle, and within seconds the whole group had disappeared over the ridge. I felt a mixture of awe and humility. Awe at their agility and the sheer wildness of the scene — it felt like a privilege to witness something that hadn’t been staged for us. Humility because it made me aware that we were visitors in their territory, not the other way round. Our guide explained that ibex numbers had fallen sharply because of hunting, and that the reserve’s protection had helped them recover. That added another layer: a sense that conservation genuinely works when it’s properly enforced. It made me far more sceptical of seeing animals in small enclosures, and far more willing to support protected areas.
Joy → kuzatish lahzasi (sezgilar, tafsilotlar) → kulminatsiya → aralash his (hayrat + kamtarlik) → kontekst va keyingi ta’sir.
3-qism: Muhokama
Band 7–8 uchun Part 3 da mavhum g‘oyalarni muhokama qilish, taxmin qilish, taqqoslash va nozik pozitsiya bildirish kutiladi.
-
Are zoos still justifiable today?
Namuna javob
Only if they prioritise conservation, education and high welfare standards. Well-run zoos contribute to breeding endangered species, but keeping large, wide-ranging animals for entertainment is increasingly hard to defend.
Shartli.
-
Is it acceptable to use animals for medical research?
Namuna javob
It’s one of the hardest ethical questions. Animal research has contributed to major medical advances, but I think it should be strictly limited, with alternatives such as cell models used wherever possible.
Dilemma + choralar.
-
Who should pay for protecting wildlife?
Namuna javob
Governments primarily, but there’s a strong case for international funding, since biodiversity is a global good, and for ecotourism revenue to be reinvested locally.
Taqsimlash.
-
Do humans have moral obligations towards animals?
Namuna javob
I believe we do, particularly to avoid unnecessary suffering. The difficulty lies in defining “unnecessary”, which differs across cultures and circumstances.
Falsafiy nozik.
