In this photo an elderly woman is teaching some children to weave a carpet. They’re in a sunny courtyard with old brick walls. There’s a large wooden loom with colourful threads — red, blue and gold. The woman is sitting in front of it and showing a girl how to tie the threads. Three other children are sitting around her, watching carefully. One boy is trying it himself. The woman looks patient and kind, and the children seem very interested. I think this is important, because traditional skills like carpet weaving can disappear if older people don’t teach them.
