Essay: Banning Cars from City Centres
Esse: shahar markazida mashinalarni taqiqlash
In your English class you have been talking about cities. Now, your English teacher has asked you to write an essay. “Should cars be banned from city centres?”
Notes — write about: 1. pollution; 2. business; 3. (your own idea).
Write your essay using all the notes and giving reasons for your point of view. Write 140–190 words.
B2 First 1-qism essesi: o‘qituvchingiz bergan savolga javob yozasiz. Ikkita qayd beriladi, uchinchisini o‘zingiz qo‘shasiz. Har bir fikr sabab bilan asoslanadi va oxirida aniq xulosa bo‘ladi.
- write about pollution — ifloslanish haqida yozing
- write about business — biznes haqida yozing
- add your own idea — o‘z g‘oyangizni qo‘shing
Imtihon strategiyasi
- Ikkala qaydga ham, o‘z qaydingizga ham alohida abzas ajrating.
- Esse — rasmiy matn: qisqartmalar va “very very” kabi iboralardan qoching.
- 190 so‘zdan oshmang — B2 First’da uzunlik chegarasi bor.
Namuna javob
Uchala qayd yoritilgan, murosali pozitsiya izchil, “rather than” kabi tuzilmalar B2 darajasiga mos. Namuna hajmi: 163 so‘z.

Traffic jams and noise are common problems in modern cities, and some people believe the solution is to ban cars from city centres completely. I partly agree with this idea.
-
The strongest argument for a ban is pollution. Cars produce harmful gases that damage people’s health, especially children’s. Without traffic, the air in the centre would be much cleaner, and people would be able to walk and cycle safely.
-
On the other hand, a complete ban could harm local businesses. Many customers drive to shops and restaurants, and if they cannot park nearby, they may go to shopping centres outside the city instead.
-
A further point to consider is people with disabilities or elderly residents, who may depend on cars to get around. A total ban would make their lives much more difficult.
-
In conclusion, I believe cars should be restricted rather than banned. Cities could introduce car-free zones at certain times and improve public transport, which would reduce pollution without damaging businesses.
