I’ve tried dozens of language apps, but WordWise is the only one I still use every day.

The app helps you learn vocabulary using a system of flashcards that appear just before you are likely to forget a word. You can choose topics, such as travel or business, and it also lets you hear each word spoken by a native speaker.

Its biggest advantage is that the lessons only take five minutes, so it’s easy to fit them into a busy day. I also love the progress charts, which really motivate me to keep going.

However, the app has a couple of drawbacks. The free version includes a lot of annoying adverts, and there are almost no grammar exercises.

Overall, I would recommend WordWise to any student who wants to build their vocabulary, but it works best alongside a grammar book or a teacher.
