IELTS Task 2: Learning Foreign Languages
IELTS 2-topshiriq: chet tillarini o‘rganish
Some people believe that children should start learning a foreign language at primary school rather than at secondary school.
Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
Write at least 250 words.
IELTS Writing Task 2 — umumiy ballning uchdan ikki qismini beradi. Savol turini aniqlang (fikr, ikki tomon, afzallik-kamchilik, muammo-yechim yoki ikki savolli) va savolning har bir qismiga javob bering. Pozitsiya kirishda ham, xulosada ham bir xil bo‘lsin.
- discuss the advantages of starting early — erta boshlashning afzalliklarini muhokama qiling
- discuss the disadvantages — kamchiliklarini muhokama qiling
- say whether advantages outweigh disadvantages — afzalliklar ustunmi, ayting
Imtihon strategiyasi
- Vaqtni bo‘ling: 5 daqiqa reja, 30 daqiqa yozish, 5 daqiqa tekshirish.
- Har bir asosiy abzas: markaziy gap → izoh → misol yoki natija.
- Savolning HAR BIR qismiga javob bering — ikki savolli topshiriqda ikkala savolga ham.
- 250 so‘zdan kam bo‘lsa ball kamaytiriladi; 270–320 so‘z eng qulay.
Namuna javob
Savolga aniq javob, ikkala tomon chuqur, kamchiliklarga “implementation” darajasida javob berilgan — murakkab argumentatsiya. Namuna hajmi: 267 so‘z.

In many countries, children now begin learning English or another foreign language at the age of six or seven. Although this policy has some drawbacks, I believe the benefits are considerably greater.
-
The main advantage is that young children learn languages more naturally. They are less afraid of making mistakes, and they are able to imitate sounds and develop accurate pronunciation more easily than teenagers. Starting early also means that pupils have more years of study before they leave school, so they are more likely to reach a high level of fluency. In addition, learning another language at a young age can increase children’s curiosity about other cultures. Research also suggests that bilingual children often develop stronger problem-solving and memory skills.
-
Nevertheless, there are some potential problems. Primary schools may not have enough qualified language teachers, and poorly taught lessons could give children a negative attitude towards the subject. Some educators also worry that a second language takes time away from essential skills such as reading and arithmetic in the mother tongue. Others argue that young children who are taught two languages at once may become confused, at least temporarily.
-
However, these difficulties are related to how the policy is implemented rather than to the idea itself. With proper teacher training and short, playful lessons, early language learning can complement, rather than compete with, other subjects. Indeed, many countries with excellent results in international tests, such as Finland, introduce foreign languages very early.
-
In conclusion, although early language teaching requires good teachers and careful planning, its advantages for pronunciation, fluency and cultural awareness clearly outweigh the drawbacks.
