IELTS Task 2: Will Online Learning Replace Universities?
IELTS 2-topshiriq: onlayn ta’lim universitetlarni almashtiradimi?
Some people believe that online courses will soon replace traditional universities.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Write at least 250 words.
IELTS Writing Task 2 — umumiy ballning uchdan ikki qismini beradi. Savol turini aniqlang (fikr, ikki tomon, afzallik-kamchilik, muammo-yechim yoki ikki savolli) va savolning har bir qismiga javob bering. Pozitsiya kirishda ham, xulosada ham bir xil bo‘lsin.
- present arguments for online courses replacing universities — onlayn kurslar foydasiga dalillar keltiring
- present arguments for traditional universities — an’anaviy universitetlar foydasiga dalillar keltiring
- state clearly how far you agree — qanchalik qo‘shilishingizni ayting
Imtihon strategiyasi
- Vaqtni bo‘ling: 5 daqiqa reja, 30 daqiqa yozish, 5 daqiqa tekshirish.
- Har bir asosiy abzas: markaziy gap → izoh → misol yoki natija.
- Savolning HAR BIR qismiga javob bering — ikki savolli topshiriqda ikkala savolga ham.
- 250 so‘zdan kam bo‘lsa ball kamaytiriladi; 270–320 so‘z eng qulay.
Namuna javob
Pozitsiya aniq va real, ikkala tomon chuqur, kelajak modeli (blended) argumentni nozik qiladi. Namuna hajmi: 255 so‘z.

The rapid growth of online education, accelerated by the pandemic, has led some to predict the end of traditional universities. While online learning will certainly play a larger role in future, I disagree that it will replace universities completely.
-
There are strong reasons why online courses are attractive. They are usually much cheaper than university degrees, which often leave students with large debts. They are also flexible, allowing people to study at their own pace while working or caring for family members. Online platforms give students in remote areas or poorer countries access to lectures from world-famous professors, which was unimaginable a few decades ago. For adults who need to update their skills throughout their careers, short online courses are particularly convenient.
-
Nevertheless, traditional universities offer things that are difficult to reproduce online. Many subjects, such as medicine, engineering and the natural sciences, require laboratories, equipment and hands-on practice under expert supervision. Face-to-face discussion with professors and classmates develops critical thinking and communication skills more effectively than video calls. Moreover, university life itself is an important stage of personal development: students make lifelong friends, build professional networks and learn to live independently. Employers also continue to value traditional degrees highly.
-
In my view, the most likely future is a blended model, in which universities combine online lectures with in-person seminars, practical work and campus life.
-
In conclusion, online courses will continue to expand because of their low cost and flexibility, but traditional universities provide practical training and personal development that online learning cannot fully replace.
