A long time ago, there was a hare who was very proud of how fast he could run. Every day, he laughed at the other animals. “You are all so slow!” he said. “Nobody can beat me.”

He ran as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise had already reached the big tree, and all the animals were cheering. The lesson: slow and steady wins the race.
