How often do you use AI tools?
Namuna javob
Almost daily, to be honest — mostly for drafting emails and summarising long documents. I’m careful not to rely on them for anything I can’t verify, though.
Odat + ehtiyotkorlik.
-
Do you think technology makes life simpler or more complicated?
Namuna javob
Paradoxically, both. Individual tasks become easier, yet we end up juggling far more of them, so life feels more fragmented than before.
Paradoks.
-
Is there a piece of technology you couldn’t live without?
Namuna javob
My laptop, since my entire working life is on it. Though I’d happily live without notifications.
Hazil bilan.

Were you interested in technology as a child?
Namuna javob
Not particularly — I was a bookish child. My fascination came much later, at university.

Describe a piece of technology that has changed the way you work or study.
You should say:
- what it is
- when you started using it
- how you use it
and explain how it has changed the way you work or study.
Namuna javob
The piece of technology that has most transformed the way I work is, without doubt, generative AI — specifically the language-model assistants that became widely available a few years ago. I started experimenting with one out of curiosity, initially just asking it trivia questions, but within a few weeks it had become integral to my workflow. I work in policy research, so much of my job involves digesting lengthy reports and drafting briefing notes. These days, I use the assistant as a kind of tireless research partner. I’ll ask it to summarise a sixty-page document, identify counter-arguments to a position I’m developing, or suggest a clearer structure for a draft. Crucially, I treat its output as a starting point rather than a final product, because it can be confidently wrong and occasionally invents sources. The change has been profound, though not quite in the way I expected. I assumed it would simply save me time, and it does, but the more significant shift is in how I think. Because it’s so easy to generate first drafts, I now spend far more energy on judgement — evaluating, refining and questioning. In a sense, it has pushed me up the value chain. The flip side is that I’ve had to become much more disciplined about fact-checking, and I sometimes worry that younger colleagues, who’ve never worked without it, may not develop the deep reading skills that I had to build the hard way.
Band 7+: kutilmagan ta’sirni tahlil qiling va o‘z-o‘zini tanqidiy baholang (“the flip side is …”).
3-qism: Muhokama
Band 7–8 uchun Part 3 da mavhum g‘oyalarni muhokama qilish, taxmin qilish, taqqoslash va nozik pozitsiya bildirish kutiladi.
-
Should the development of AI be regulated by governments?
Namuna javob
I’d argue some regulation is essential, particularly around transparency and accountability — if an algorithm denies someone a loan, they should have the right to know why. That said, overly rigid rules risk stifling innovation, so the challenge is to regulate outcomes rather than the technology itself.
Pozitsiya + nozik muvozanat.
-
Will AI make education more or less equal?
Namuna javob
It could cut both ways. On the one hand, a student in a remote village could have access to a personalised tutor that was once only available to the wealthy. On the other, if access to the best tools depends on income, the gap could widen considerably.
Ikki ehtimol.
-
Can machines ever be truly creative?
Namuna javob
It depends how you define creativity. AI can certainly recombine existing ideas in novel ways, which is arguably what many humans do. But whether it can have intention or meaning behind what it produces is a much more philosophical question.
Ta’rifni muhokama.
-
What skills will be most valuable in an AI-dominated workplace?
Namuna javob
Ironically, the most human ones — critical judgement, empathy, the ability to frame good questions and to collaborate. Technical skills will still matter, but they’ll have a shorter shelf life.
Paradoks bilan javob.
