Describe a charity or organisation that you think does important work.
You should say:
- what it is
- what it does
- how you know about it
and explain why you think its work is important.
Namuna javob
An organisation whose work I genuinely admire is a small Tashkent-based charity that supports children with autism and their families. I first learned about it about four years ago, when a colleague’s son was diagnosed and she told me how isolated the family had felt — there were very few specialists, and many people still regarded autism with suspicion or stigma. The charity was founded by a group of parents in a similar situation, and it has grown from informal meetings in someone’s flat into a centre that offers therapy sessions, training for teachers and support groups for parents. They also run public awareness campaigns, including events in shopping centres where people can learn what autism actually is. I think their work is important for several reasons. Most immediately, it provides practical help that the state system hasn’t yet been able to offer at scale; early therapy can make an enormous difference to a child’s development. Secondly, their training programme for teachers has a multiplier effect, because each teacher they train can help many children over a career. But I think their most significant contribution is cultural. By making autism visible and talking about it openly, they’re gradually changing attitudes in a society where disability was often hidden for fear of shame. My colleague told me that a year after joining, she finally felt able to talk about her son publicly without embarrassment. That kind of change is hard to measure, but it’s arguably the foundation for everything else, including better public policy in the future.
Tashkilot kelib chiqishi → faoliyat → ahamiyat qatlamlari (amaliy, multiplikator, madaniy) → shaxsiy guvohlik.
3-qism: Muhokama
Band 7–8 uchun Part 3 da mavhum g‘oyalarni muhokama qilish, taxmin qilish, taqqoslash va nozik pozitsiya bildirish kutiladi.
-
Should the government rather than charities be responsible for helping people in need?
Namuna javob
The state should provide the foundation, since only it can offer universal, reliable support. Charities are valuable for innovation, reaching marginalised groups and advocacy, but relying on them for basic needs makes support patchy and dependent on donors’ interests.
Rollar taqsimoti.
-
Why do people give to charity?
Namuna javob
Motives vary: genuine compassion, religious duty, social recognition, or personal experience of a cause. Arguably, motives matter less than outcomes, provided the giving is effective.
Motivlar + baho.
-
Is it better to donate locally or internationally?
Namuna javob
Money often goes further in poorer countries, which is a strong argument for international giving. But local giving builds community ties and accountability, since you can see the impact.
Ikki tomon.
-
Do wealthy individuals have a moral duty to give?
Namuna javob
I’d argue they do, to an extent, especially when their wealth depends on public infrastructure and stable institutions. But philanthropy shouldn’t replace fair taxation, which is more democratic.
Nozik pozitsiya.
