What did you enjoy most about school?
Namuna javob
The friendships, more than anything academic. Some of my classmates are still my closest friends.

-
Was there a subject you found pointless at the time?
Namuna javob
Chemistry, I’m embarrassed to say — though I now realise it was the teaching, not the subject.
Retrospektiv.

Are you studying anything at the moment?
Namuna javob
I’m taking an evening course in data science, which is humbling after years away from formal education.

Do you prefer studying alone or with others?

Describe an educational experience that taught you something important.
You should say:
- what the experience was
- when and where it happened
- what you learned
and explain why it was so important to you.
Namuna javob
An educational experience that profoundly shaped me was a semester-long exchange programme at a university in the Netherlands, which I took part in during the third year of my degree, about six years ago. Until then, my entire education had followed a fairly traditional model: lecturers delivered content, we took notes, and we reproduced that content in exams. In the Netherlands, the approach was almost the opposite. Most of the learning happened in small seminar groups of around twelve students, where we were expected to have read extensively beforehand and to debate the material — and, crucially, to challenge the tutor if we disagreed. I remember being genuinely shocked in my first seminar when a student told the professor, quite politely, that she thought his argument was flawed, and the professor responded by thanking her and reconsidering his point. The most important thing I learned wasn’t any specific content; it was that knowledge is something you construct and question, rather than something you simply receive. Initially, I found it intimidating — I was used to there being one right answer — but over those months I became far more confident in forming and defending my own views. That shift has been invaluable ever since, both in my career and in how I approach information in general. It also made me appreciate that the strengths of my home education system — rigour and discipline — are real, but they need to be balanced with intellectual independence.

3-qism: Muhokama
Band 7–8 uchun Part 3 da mavhum g‘oyalarni muhokama qilish, taxmin qilish, taqqoslash va nozik pozitsiya bildirish kutiladi.
-
What is the main purpose of education?
Namuna javob
I’d say it has several purposes that are often in tension: preparing people for work, producing informed citizens and fostering personal development. Problems arise when one purpose — usually employability — crowds out the others.
Ko‘p qirrali + ziddiyat.
-
Should university education be free?
Namuna javob
There’s a strong case for it, as it widens access and benefits society as a whole. However, someone has to pay, so a realistic compromise might be free tuition combined with a commitment to work in the country for a number of years after graduating.
Pozitsiya + amaliy murosa.
-
Is it better to specialise early or to have a broad education?
Namuna javob
A broad foundation seems more valuable in a fast-changing world, since specific skills quickly become obsolete. Specialising too early can also lock young people into paths they later regret.
Asoslangan tanlov.
-
How might technology change schools in the next twenty years?
Namuna javob
I suspect the role of the teacher will shift from delivering information to guiding and mentoring, since content will be accessible on demand. The risk is that schools invest in gadgets rather than in the human relationships that actually drive learning.
Bashorat + xavf.
