Do you see yourself as a natural leader?
Namuna javob
Not naturally, no. I think I’ve become a reasonable one through practice and a few painful mistakes.

Were you ever a leader at school?

I was captain of the debating team, which taught me more about persuasion than any lesson.

Describe a time when you had to lead a group of people.
You should say:
- what the situation was
- who the people were
- what you had to do
and explain what you learned from the experience.
Namuna javob
A situation where I had to take on a leadership role, quite unexpectedly, was during a large charity event I was helping to organise about four years ago — a fundraising concert for children with disabilities. I was originally just a volunteer responsible for ticketing, but two days before the event, the main coordinator fell seriously ill, and the committee asked me to step in. Suddenly I was responsible for a team of around thirty volunteers, most of whom were older and more experienced than me, as well as coordinating with the venue, the performers and the sponsors. The first thing I did was call a short meeting, admit openly that I was out of my depth in some areas, and ask the people with the most experience to take charge of specific tasks — sound, catering, security. Rather than trying to control everything, I focused on communication: making sure everyone knew who to contact for what, and resolving conflicts quickly. There were inevitable crises — one performer cancelled on the day, and the sound system failed briefly — but because responsibilities were clearly delegated, people solved problems without waiting for me. The event raised about thirty percent more than the target. I learned several things, but the most important was that leadership isn’t about knowing everything; it’s about creating clarity and trust, and then getting out of people’s way. I also learned that admitting your limitations can actually strengthen your authority rather than weaken it, which I found counterintuitive at the time.
Band 7+: kutilmagan rol → strategiya (zaiflikni tan olish, delegatsiya) → inqiroz → natija → paradoksal saboq.
3-qism: Muhokama
Band 7–8 uchun Part 3 da mavhum g‘oyalarni muhokama qilish, taxmin qilish, taqqoslash va nozik pozitsiya bildirish kutiladi.
-
Are leaders born or made?
Namuna javob
Probably a bit of both, but I lean towards “made”. Certain traits like confidence may come naturally, but the skills that matter most — listening, judgement, managing conflict — are largely developed through experience and reflection.
Pozitsiya + asos.
-
Has the idea of good leadership changed over time?
Namuna javob
Considerably. The traditional model was authoritarian and top-down, whereas today there’s much more emphasis on collaboration, emotional intelligence and empowering others, partly because work has become more complex and knowledge-based.
Tarixiy o‘zgarish + sabab.
-
Should political leaders be held to higher moral standards than ordinary people?
Namuna javob
I think so, because they exercise power over others and their behaviour sets norms. That said, expecting perfection can be counterproductive, as it encourages concealment rather than honesty about mistakes.
Nozik pozitsiya.
-
Why are women still underrepresented in senior leadership?
Namuna javob
A combination of structural barriers — such as the unequal burden of childcare — and persistent biases about what a leader looks like. Flexible working and transparent promotion processes can help, but cultural change takes longer.
Tizimli tahlil.
