Do you think much about your online privacy?
Namuna javob
Far more than I used to. I’ve started reading privacy settings, which I suspect makes me unusual.
O‘zgarish.

Do you post personal information on social media?
Namuna javob
Very selectively — never my location in real time or anything about my family.
Qoidalar.

Describe a time when you felt your privacy was invaded.
You should say:
- what happened
- when and where it happened
- who was involved
and explain how you felt and what you did about it.
Namuna javob
A time I felt my privacy was genuinely invaded was about two years ago, shortly after I’d bought a flat. Within a week of the purchase, I started receiving phone calls and messages from companies I’d never contacted — furniture shops, renovation firms, even a bank offering me a loan for home improvements. They all knew my name, my new address and, unsettlingly, roughly how much I’d paid for the flat. At first I assumed it was coincidence, but when a salesman mentioned the exact size of my kitchen, I realised that my data had been shared, or more likely sold, by someone involved in the transaction. I felt a mixture of anger and vulnerability. Anger, because I’d never consented to my details being passed on; vulnerability, because I had no idea who else now knew where I lived and what I could afford. It made my new home feel slightly less safe. I decided to take action rather than simply ignore it. I asked each caller where they’d obtained my information, and two of them named the same real-estate agency. I then wrote a formal complaint to the agency and, when they denied responsibility, to the relevant consumer protection authority. The case was never fully resolved, but the calls gradually stopped, and the agency later updated its privacy policy. The experience taught me how casually personal data is traded, and since then I’ve been far more careful about what I share and with whom — I now ask directly how my information will be used before signing anything.

3-qism: Muhokama
Band 7–8 uchun Part 3 da mavhum g‘oyalarni muhokama qilish, taxmin qilish, taqqoslash va nozik pozitsiya bildirish kutiladi.
-
Is it acceptable for governments to monitor citizens to prevent crime?
Namuna javob
Some targeted monitoring, with judicial oversight, is arguably justified. The danger lies in mass, indiscriminate surveillance, which treats everyone as a suspect and can easily be abused, particularly against journalists or political opponents.
Farqlash + xavf.
-
Should tech companies be allowed to profit from personal data?
Namuna javob
Only with genuine, informed consent — which rarely exists now, since few people read lengthy terms and conditions. Regulation should make data collection the exception rather than the default.
Shartli pozitsiya.
-
Do young people care less about privacy than older generations?
Namuna javob
They share more, certainly, but research suggests they often care deeply — they just manage privacy differently, for instance by using disappearing messages or multiple accounts.
Stereotipni nozik rad etish.
-
Will privacy exist in twenty years?
Namuna javob
In its traditional sense, perhaps not. But I suspect we’ll see a stronger legal framework emerge, similar to how environmental protections developed after industrialisation caused damage.
Tarixiy analogiya.
