IELTS Task 2: Advertising Aimed at Children
IELTS 2-topshiriq: bolalarga qaratilgan reklama
Advertising aimed at children should be banned.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Write at least 250 words.
IELTS Writing Task 2 — umumiy ballning uchdan ikki qismini beradi. Savol turini aniqlang (fikr, ikki tomon, afzallik-kamchilik, muammo-yechim yoki ikki savolli) va savolning har bir qismiga javob bering. Pozitsiya kirishda ham, xulosada ham bir xil bo‘lsin.
- present arguments for a ban — taqiqlash foydasiga dalillar keltiring
- present arguments against a ban — qarshi dalillarni keltiring
- state clearly how far you agree — qanchalik qo‘shilishingizni ayting
Imtihon strategiyasi
- Vaqtni bo‘ling: 5 daqiqa reja, 30 daqiqa yozish, 5 daqiqa tekshirish.
- Har bir asosiy abzas: markaziy gap → izoh → misol yoki natija.
- Savolning HAR BIR qismiga javob bering — ikki savolli topshiriqda ikkala savolga ham.
- 250 so‘zdan kam bo‘lsa ball kamaytiriladi; 270–320 so‘z eng qulay.
Namuna javob
Kuchli pozitsiya boshidan oxirigacha izchil, ikki asosiy dalil va real misol, qarshi fikrga ishonchli javob. Namuna hajmi: 259 so‘z.

Children today are exposed to advertising on television, websites and social media from a very young age. I strongly agree that advertising aimed specifically at children should be banned, as it exploits their lack of judgement.
-
The main reason is that young children cannot recognise the persuasive purpose of advertisements. Unlike adults, they tend to believe what they see, so clever marketing can easily convince them that they need a particular toy or snack. This creates pressure on parents, who face constant demands and arguments, and it can make children who cannot afford the latest products feel excluded. Advertising also teaches children from a very early age that happiness depends on owning things, which may shape their values for life.
-
Moreover, much of the advertising aimed at children promotes unhealthy food and drinks. Bright colours, cartoon characters and free toys are used to make sugary products attractive, contributing to rising levels of childhood obesity. Several countries, including Sweden and Norway, have already banned television advertising for young children without any serious negative consequences.
-
Opponents argue that parents, not governments, should control what their children watch, and that a ban would be difficult to enforce online. While parental responsibility is certainly important, it is unrealistic to expect parents to monitor every screen their children see, so regulation is necessary. Moreover, the success of existing bans shows that enforcement is possible when there is political will.
-
In conclusion, because children are particularly vulnerable to persuasion and are often targeted with unhealthy products, I believe advertising aimed at them should be prohibited.
