IELTS Task 2: Space Exploration
IELTS 2-topshiriq: koinotni o‘rganish
Some people believe that spending money on space exploration is a waste, and that this money should be used to solve problems on Earth.
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Write at least 250 words.
IELTS Writing Task 2 — umumiy ballning uchdan ikki qismini beradi. Savol turini aniqlang (fikr, ikki tomon, afzallik-kamchilik, muammo-yechim yoki ikki savolli) va savolning har bir qismiga javob bering. Pozitsiya kirishda ham, xulosada ham bir xil bo‘lsin.
- present the argument that it is a waste — isrof degan fikrni ko‘rsating
- present the benefits of space exploration — koinot tadqiqotining foydasini ko‘rsating
- state clearly how far you agree — qanchalik qo‘shilishingizni aniq ayting
Imtihon strategiyasi
- Vaqtni bo‘ling: 5 daqiqa reja, 30 daqiqa yozish, 5 daqiqa tekshirish.
- Har bir asosiy abzas: markaziy gap → izoh → misol yoki natija.
- Savolning HAR BIR qismiga javob bering — ikki savolli topshiriqda ikkala savolga ham.
- 250 so‘zdan kam bo‘lsa ball kamaytiriladi; 270–320 so‘z eng qulay.
Namuna javob
Pozitsiya aniq va izchil, qarshi fikr tan olinib, kuchli dalillar bilan javob berilgan, lug‘at aniq. Namuna hajmi: 272 so‘z.

Every year, governments and private companies spend billions of dollars on rockets, satellites and missions to other planets. Although I understand why some people consider this a waste of resources, I largely disagree with this view.
-
It is true that the sums involved are enormous, and that the same money could be used to fight poverty, improve hospitals or tackle climate change. When millions of people lack clean water, sending astronauts to Mars may seem like a strange priority, and critics are right to demand that public money is spent responsibly. Some also question whether private companies, which increasingly lead space projects, are motivated by profit rather than by the needs of humanity.
-
However, space research has produced many technologies that improve life on Earth. Satellites make modern weather forecasting, navigation and communication possible, and they allow scientists to monitor deforestation, floods and rising sea levels. Inventions originally developed for space missions, from water purification systems to medical imaging, are now used in everyday life. Moreover, space programmes inspire young people to study science and engineering, which benefits the wider economy. In the longer term, research into other planets may even help us to understand and protect our own.
-
It is also worth noting that space budgets are relatively small compared with spending on defence or healthcare, so cancelling them would not solve global poverty. The real problem lies in how wealth is distributed, not in the relatively modest sums devoted to science.
-
In conclusion, while public funds must be used wisely, space exploration is not a waste. Its practical and scientific benefits for life on Earth are too significant to ignore.
