Phrasal Verbs

Frazali fe’llar

Bu darsda

Oddiy qilib aytganda

Frazali fe’l (phrasal verb) — fe’l + kichik so‘z (up, off, out, on, down, back, after...) birlashib, ko‘pincha yangi ma’no bergan birikma.

  • I look at the picture.Rasmga qarayman. (look — qaramoq)
  • I look after my grandmother.Buvimga g‘amxo‘rlik qilaman. (look after — butunlay boshqa ma’no)
  • I give you a book.Sizga kitob beraman. (give — bermoq)
  • He gave up smoking.U chekishni tashladi. (give up — tashlamoq)

Ikki so‘zni alohida tarjima qilsangiz, ma’no chiqmaydi: look after — “orqasidan qaramoq” emas, “g‘amxo‘rlik qilmoq”; give up — “tepaga bermoq” emas, “tashlamoq, voz kechmoq”.

O‘zbekchada ham shunga o‘xshash narsa bor: “ko‘tar” va “ko‘tarib chiq”, “o‘t” va “o‘tib ket”, “qo‘y” va “qo‘yib yubor”. Ko‘makchi fe’l asosiy fe’lning ma’nosini o‘zgartiradi.

Inglizchada bu birikmalar so‘zlashuvda juda ko‘p uchraydi. Ularsiz tabiiy, jonli nutq bo‘lmaydi. Filmlar, qo‘shiqlar, kundalik suhbatlar — hammasi frazali fe’llarga to‘la.
